Samson Philipps is a duo consisting of drummer Samuel Schmassmann and keyboardist Philipp Bucholtz. While their music is rooted in nu jazz, they also incorporate elements of drum ‘n’ bass, trip hop, funk, psychedelia, and ambient, creating a driving, yet dreamy sound.

Ramzi Hammad & RH Collective 

Drummer and composer Ramzi Hammad combines the Middle Eastern rhythms of his heritage with modern jazz in his music. Hammad&#x27;s life is reflected in his sound. Brought to life by the collective, his Palestinian roots, his jazz studies at the Zurich University of the Arts, and his fondness for the London jazz scene merge into a greater whole.

With the Lea Gasser 5tet, the young accordionist brings her own wonderfully enchanting musical language to the stage. Embedded in the sound of her quintet, the musician creates lyrical compositions that describe seemingly inconspicuous everyday moments and fuse jazz with classical and folk music elements. Chloé Marsigny Sextet

Bass clarinettist Chloé Marsigny draws inspiration for her deeply jazzy compositions from the universe and the laws of physics and astrophysics. The sextet impresses the audience with exciting arrangements and playful melodies in which the warm sound of the bass clarinet comes into its own. Refreshing, unpredictable and cosmic. Masterclass mit Mira Lu Kovacs

Mira Lu Kovacs is the voice of the avant-garde supergroup 5K HD, bandleader, grunge-pop guitarist, sound corporate designer of the Belvedere Museum in Vienna and theater musician, and in this master class she talks about working as a musician in various formations, about songwriting and how it adapts to ever-changing circumstances. The discussion will then develop according to the composition of the participants. The masterclass took place as part of the ZKB Jazz Prize.

Maud Paquis Quintet

Maud Paquis is a French-Swiss author, composer, pianist and singer. In the language of Molière, she tells mysterious stories about the call of seagulls, a witch hunt, Greek myths and the creation of the universe - sometimes poppy, sometimes inspired by swing or bossa nova, but always original. The concert took place as part of the ZKB Jazz Prize.

The Swiss-Cuban pianist Leandro Irarragorri interweaves influences from his compositions with influences from US-American and Cuban music radiations. The result is a groovy sound between Latin and jazz that makes you dance, to dance, sing and feel along. The concert took place as part of the ZKB Jazz Prize.

Meraki Sextett

The Meraki Sextet creates unique soundscapes that range from melancholy to exuberant euphoria and are characterized by the unusual instrumentation without a harmonic instrument. Martin Gilgen and Marius Hösli draw inspiration for their compositions from the harmonic sounds and metaphors of the universe, thereby exploring the boundaries of jazz. Polarbaeren are four young musicians who set out to shatter the conventions of what new jazz should and shouldn&#x27;t do. Whirling, abrupt, straightforward, with powerful beats and insane creativity, the band captivates their listeners and wraps them up in a snowstorm of sounds. Knobil

Knobil is a vocal jazz quartet founded by Louise Knobil, a double bass player, singer and composer living in Lausanne. Inspired by Esperanza Spalding, Charles Mingus and Oscar Pettiford, she interprets her own compositions with her double bass and voice in a style between singer-songwriter, post-bop and glitery jazz. The concert took place as part of the ZKB Jazz Prize.

Masterclass mit Rabih Abou-Khalil

Traditional Arabic meters and scales combined with European classical music up to open jazz and distinct improvisations. The result Rabih Abou-Khalil conjures from his instrument is a fresh music, fascinatingly complex, virtuosic, sensual. The starting point of this masterclass is his extraordinary instrument - the oud - and from there the conversation develops. The further content depends on the composition of the participants. Open to musicians and those interested in music. No registration required. Duration: 1 hour

The sound of the Bernese collective ARBRE is rooted in clear and gnarly rhythms composed of carefully selected sounds played with a light, precise hand. Their groove spans densely woven acoustic and electronic textures and deeply branching soundscapes. The concert took place as part of the ZKB Jazz Prize.

Arthur Donnot Group

Arthur Donnot is an up-and-coming musician from Lausanne whose calm breath on the saxophone unfolds a warm sound all its own, almost reminiscent of organic singing. His compositions are rich and somber, yet have a luminous note. His influences range from Mac Demarco to Serge Gainsbourg, from hip hop to indie folk. The concert took place as part of the ZKB Jazz Prize.

Filippo Valli Quartet

The Filippo Valli Quartet from Ticino brings together four young musicians who combine their talents and collaborative spirit to create a fascinating and cohesive musical experience. Their collective artistry and seamless interplay results in performances that captivate audiences with their fusion of traditional and contemporary jazz, R&amp;B, soul and hip-hop influences.
