Yunus' concert tips for April

Yunus Durrer03-27-20252 min. read

April at Moods will be legendary in every sense of the word. Several big names from different genres will be playing at Moods. In my tips, I'll tell you what I particularly recommend and what it has to do with my teenage summers.

Sunday, 6. April - Carte Blanche Victoria Mozalevskaya: Zürich Jazz Kollektiv

We start off the month and my first highlight with a premier. A new project, led by the fantastic Victoria Mozalevskaya, heading a beautiful line-up from various corners of Switzerland, mixing different flavours.

Thursday, 10. April - The Blackbyrds

Looking Ahead, I have been Dreaming About You. I hope that the sun will shine and spare us April Showers, so that we can Walk in Rhythm through Rock Creek Park on this Hot Day Today. Some might be worried about the Mysterious Vibes, but I tell them it’ll be Soft and Easy. This evening will be Something Special. All I Ask, is that the whole city comes and joins us for some Happy Music. Let us Fly High through the night with the Jazz-Funk Legends.

Friday, 11. April - Bonga

Another night, another legend. This one takes me back to my summer months as a teenager, listening to the album Angola 72/74 by Lake Sarnen. Luanda, Lisboa, Paris and the logical fourth consequence, Obwalden. Blending folk music, dance grooves, the Angolan Semba music as well sharing stories of revolution, exile and saudades – longing for home – I am really looking forward to share and feel such an important figure in global cultural history.
And to help us bridge cultures, real one Dino Brandao will kick things off, building his own bridge from Luanda. Not to Obwalden as in my case, but to Brugg. After an energetic full-band show in the neighbouring Zentralwäscherei in February, Dino returns to K5, this time joined by none other than his heart, his hands and his voice.

Sunday, 13. April - Ending Pad: Ensemble Kiosk / Anushka Chkheidze / Kordz

We celebrate the cultural bridge between Zurich and Tbillisi together and enjoy the creativity of various artists, including Tamriko Kordzaias. A pleasure not to be missed.

Thursday, 17. April - Carte Blanche Lucas Niggli: Tomorrow Tribal Quartet

What do a deck of cards and a quartet of musicians have in common? We don’t know yet but will find out the 17th. Thank you Lucas for this beautifully creative format, looking forward to this playful evening. Raise? All in. "Donnschtig-Jass", so to speak.

Saturday, 19. April - Wolfgang Muthspiel TOUCH feat. Linda May Han Oh & Lionel Loueke

Which string do these three musicians have in common? String Theory? String Cheese? A G-String? The E String? This Easter weeekend we shall enjoy a multitude of strings, most likely between 4 and 6 on average. 3 of today’s finest musicians, a celebration of excellency, a blend of creativity, moments of musicality.

Saturday, 26. April - 11 Years GDS.FM (with Melting Steine and Anna Erhard)

Who’s in? I am!
