Lorena Izquierdo Solo

«When sounds of different objects become music»

Line-Up
Lorena Izquierdo Vocals, Performance
How do you articulate a paradox, both sonically and visually? How do we experience space and time in new ways, give it new forms, reinterpret and expand it? Can we experience and overcome the boundaries between object, body, sound and their intervals? In this action the audience and the performer find themselves in an unusual relationship with sound and context, thus allowing an expanded perception of space and time to find new and stimulating places and ideas for the imagination.
This is a piece of about 25 minutes approximately, made up of impromptu composition where previously the elements involved have been investigated both practically and conceptually: In the voice, Lorena Izquierdo, vocalist, performer and poet from Valencia, is interested in what is peculiar, what is original, what is created from intuition, from the search for limits, from the impossible. She also relates to objects in unusual ways, far from utility, because one can find new and unexpected values and amplify the way we perceive the world and help us to transform it. With the fragmentation, plastification, extension, subjectivisation and sonorisation of time and space, she breaks the traditional linear unity and creates more readings of the action, while looking for a kind of collage of strange events that has no sense in itself, but which is then created while acting,

«Three individual approaches – one common language»

Chris Corsano, Tizia Zimmermann and Chris Pitsiokos first played together in New York in summer 2023, during Tizia's six-month stint in the big city. The trio quickly found a collective language drawing on their highly personal approaches to their respective instruments and their shared interests in free jazz, improvised music, drone and noise. Always in the process of discovery, each performance involves further revelations of until-then unimagined musical forms.
