Four musicians, four cultures! Mathias Duplessy is a French (film) composer and multi-instrumentalist. For the project Duplessy & The Violins of the World, he gathers three different violinists around him; three virtuosos from different countries, with different cultural backgrounds. Mandakh Daansuren plays the Mongolian horsehead violin, Zied Zouari the Swedish nyckelharpa or keyed fiddle, an instrument from northern Europe similar to the hurdy-gurdy, and Guo Gan is a master of the erhu, the so-called spike violin, a traditional string instrument from China. An evening full of rousing rhythms and thrilling melodies!
