Marin's tips for May
The May programme at Moods has it all: holiday feeling, one of my favourite bands and friends of mine. I'll tell you what you can look forward to in my tips for May.
Friday, 2. May – Malphino
My first May highlight is Malphino. I think the band just brings such an exotic holiday feeling. Mega cool, harmonious dance music that is just a joy to listen to!Sunday, 11. May – Bureau Bureau
We continue with the second highlight: the children's concert by Bureau Bureau. Admittedly, the music may not be exactly what you think of as children's music. It's very experimental - and that's what makes it so exciting for children. I mean, what child doesn't like to discover new things? I've had the honour of taking part in Moods' children's concerts a couple of times now, and I have to say it's great fun every time!Thursday, 15. May – Yazz Ahmed Quartet
My number 3 highlight is Yazz Ahmed. Her sound is experimental yet groovy. Just good music, plain and simple. Maybe I'm a bit biased because I lived near London for a while and fell in love with London jazz.Tuesday, 20. May - Sélène Saint-Aimé String Trio
Atmospheric, oriental and upbeat: this is my 4th highlight. With the music of the Sélène Saint-Aimé String Trio, you can simply let your thoughts flow and resonate with the sound.Friday, 23. May – FORQ
Forq is such a great band. I've been listening to them for years, almost since their first album. For me, their music is the perfect blend of rock and jazz. It's groovy and mega moving at the same time. I really can only recommend them.Saturday, 31. May - LAYENA
Disclaimer: Some of my friends play. But even if I didn't know them, I'd still go. They play groove jazz, but with a fresh, modern twist. I also like their concept: their songs are mainly created in jam sessions.Marin's tips for May
