How many concerts did we organise in 2023? How many visitors came to Moods? And how many musicians performed on the Moods stage? All these questions and many more are answered in our 2023 annual report.
In this article you will find a summary of the most important figures and diagrams from the 2023 annual report. If you would like to take a closer look at the whole thing or read the personal reviews from the team (highly recommended!), you can download the entire annual report below. The 2023 annual accounts and the budget for 2025 are also available to download.
Distribution of concerts by musical style
In 2023, around 70% of concerts were in the jazz category. The remaining 30% consisted of concerts in the areas of global sounds, soul, funk, blues, rap and electronica.
Distribution by gender of the musicians performing
In 2023, we analysed the distribution of musicians by gender on the Moods stage for the first time. In some cases, female* and male bands are counted in such statistics, whereby bands with a female singer as the main character are already considered a band with a significant proportion of women* and are therefore counted as female* bands. In these statistics, however, each musician on stage was recorded individually. The distribution of musicians by gender is somewhat more balanced than usual in the field of jazz in Switzerland, according to the preliminary study from 2021 on gender relations in Swiss cultural organisations. However, we are aware that we still have a long way to go before we achieve a balanced stage presence.
Distribution by origin of the musicians performing
In 2023, almost two thirds of the musicians were from Switzerland and we are delighted to contribute to a vibrant Swiss music scene.
Statistics visitors
