Domi Chansorn's Carte Blanche is entering its final round with a bang! After the concerts with the Spielwiesen Orkestra and the percussion triptych of Domi Chansorn, Mario Hänni and Arthur Hnatek, two evenings with Chansorn's all-star band "The Astral Body" will complete the series next week.

Born in 1988, musician and producer Domi Chansorn grew up in Emmental and ventured to Zurich just over a decade ago. Since then, he has not only become an integral part of the local music scene, but also a firmly anchored rock in the entire national music scene: he has toured with Sophie Hunger and Evelinn Trouble, produced music by Kush K, Bonaparte and Long Tall Jefferson in his studio at Wipinger Viadukt, won the ZKB Jazz Prize with his band BOUNCE in 2013 and his latest project "The Astral Body" is once again causing quite a stir.The Astral Body actually got its start at Moods in April 2022, when Domi Chansorn christened his long-awaited record "Hoppalulu Bum" and brought together some of his favorite people and musicians.Chansorn, who originally recorded the music on "Hoppalulu Bum" on his own, says that this first concert together was a great success. Subsequently, more and more concert requests came in and they were able to perform more and more often in this large formation, which has now grown to 14 musicians.
For their past shows, they repeatedly worked in smaller stages, inlcuding new songs bit by bit and trying out new sounds. As part of the two-day residency at Moods on December 4 and 5, The Astral Body are finally immersing themselves more intensively in music again: Rehearsing during the day and performing in the evening.Domi Chansorn remains the "Tätschmeister": the music was written exclusively by him and is tailor-made for The Astral Body. Chansorn rehearses, tinkers and explores the potential which lies in this body of sound. The most important thing for him is that the music doesn't follow one specific direction, but that genre boundaries are crossed all the time and in all directions.
Anyone already preparing for the concerts will recognize from his latest albums and EPs that Domi Chansorn can hardly be pinned down musically. "Hoppalulu Bum" is psychedelic-rocking and playful, while the music on his EP trilogy "Domi I-III" is more electronic and dark, but no less emotional.The Astral Body is a body with many souls and an even bigger heart. A bit of work-in-progress, a constantly changing ball of energy. What the two concert evenings have in store for us remains a bit of a surprise. One thing is certain: it's going to be absolutely captivating.
