From September 21 to 25, the ZKB Jazz Prize Festival took place at Moods for the most highly endowed prize for young Swiss jazz musicians. The competition was won by Ace Ross. alpha-ray took second place. The audience award went to Samson Philipps.
The final of the 2025 ZKB Jazzpreis Festival took place on Thursday evening, September 25, at Moods. Ace Ross was this year's winner. The jury had the following to say about the winner: "Ace Ross surprised us once again. Their strong interplay and sophisticated compositions were convincing. From start to finish, the four promising young musicians created an arc of suspense that captivated the entire club."

Second place went to Alpha-Ray. The jury had high praise for them as well: "Everything about them is just right. They have their own language, they sound fantastic together, and they have a real band sound. Their sound feels 'whole,' and they put on a great show!"
The audience was also able to award a prize. The ZKB Audience Award went to the Samson Philipps duo. They can look forward to performing again at Moods.
In addition to the three award-winning bands, the Maurice Storrer Quartet, Ramzi Hammad & RH Collective and Mundus were also nominated for the Young Talent Award. All concerts can be viewed on our streaming portal.

The prizes were presented by Roger Liebi, Vice President of Zürcher Kantonalbank. The prize money is to be used for music; for studio productions, CD and label costs, for instruments, advertising or bookings.
