He juggles with the traditional musical styles of his North African homeland, the creativity of jazz with the power of rock music: the Egyptian Oud player, Mohamed Abozekry, who these days lives in France. The traditional Arabesque sounds of the Oriental lute meet up with Flamenco and South American influences. Abozekry learnt to play the Oud from an early age with the famous Naseer Shamma in his «House of the Arabian Lute» in Cairo. At 15, he was already the youngest teacher of the instrument in the Arabic world. «Karkadé» is the name of his newest project.
