To celebrate the centenary of Miles Davis' birth, the Zurich Jazz Orchestra performs a selection of pieces written by Gil Evans for Miles Davis and found on the legendary albums Sketches of Spain, Miles Ahead, Porgy & Bess and Quiet Nights.

The program is a true best of program, with highlights from each album performed by the original line-up and featuring the incomparable Thomas Gansch as soloist. The program will also include the final part of Ed Partyka's composition for the ZJO's 30th anniversary, orchestrated for the expanded line-up by Gil Evans and rarely heard in traditional big band music.

This concert will end our 2025-2026 Mood Concerts on a high, showcasing yet another facet of the Zurich Jazz Orchestra's stylistic breadth and depth.
