Brian Jackson Trio

Brian Jackson became known together with Gil Scott-Heron. In this power-duo, within only 8 years, he wrote, arranged and produced more than ten albums. His music is to be found on over 100 tracks such as «The People» (on «We Almost Lost Detroit») or Kendrick Lamars «Poe Mans Dreams» (on «Peace Go With You, Brother»). Almost 40 years later Brian Jackson works with such diverse artistes as Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (Midnight Hour, A Tribe Called Quest), the singer Gregory Porter, Christopher «Puma» Smith (The Archives, Thievery Corporation), the jazz violinist Scott Tixier or the legendary bassist Charnett Moffett. In the process he takes inspiratinon from both the present and the past: «This music is not really mine. I have learnt it from those who came before me. It is my task, to relate, what I have learned. That is the tradition.»
