A-WA

A-WA is the World Pop lucky bag sensation from the Israeli Negev desert. Their band name means «Ja» in Arabic slang and one feels this positive approach in the music of the three sisters from Israel: the combination of traditional old Jemeniti singing with hip-hop beats, reggae grooves and electronic elements generates an immediate desire to dance, in the performers and audience alike. The sound and the style of A-WA remind us of the Londoners M.I.A and yet are unmistakeable: cheeky, pop colourful with a rebellious energy.
